The purpose of the fellowship program is to advance the careers of early-stage researchers and support groundbreaking science in US and Japanese research labs.

Grants and in-kind services to USA and territories colleges and universities to assist students in the development of technological innovations with market potential. Funding is intended to support engineering or science-based innovations that have a positive impact on the world, are commercially promising, and are scalable. Funds, training, immersive workshops, and specialized coaching are provided to student innovators and entrepreneurs to help move their inventions into the marketplace.

Grants to Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations, tribes, and local and state government agencies to improve local water quality in eligible regions. All applicants must demonstrate how they will lower total phosphorus contributions to the Great Lakes basin or otherwise reduce the effects of sediment and nutrients. Applicants can submit proposals associated with either agricultural non-point or shoreline or streambanks. Eligible projects must be located within the United States portion of the Great Lakes basin.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and individual scholars for research, projects, and other activities that promote animal welfare. Previously funded projects include adoption programs, animal rescue training, public awareness campaigns, research and data websites, and more.

Grants of up to $25,000 USA, Canada, and International organizations, businesses, agencies, and individuals for environmental conservation projects. Funding is intended for activities in the focus areas of stewardship, conservation, and education. Projects may be globally or locally focused.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of injured military veterans and their families. Funding is intended to support a range of services and programs including, but not limited to, therapeutic and recreational activities, career training and education, rehabilitation programs, shelters for the homeless, and the supply of mobility items.

Fellowships of $75,000 to USA and territories Native American leaders for activities that foster change for Indigenous people and their communities. Applicants are required to submit an initial application prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended to support the advancement and knowledge of participants by assisting with living expenses, conference registration, travel, tuition, equipment, and childcare.

Grants of up to $1,200 to Ohio artists in eligible areas to promote, market, and create artwork. Funding may be used for expenses related to professional development, marketing, advertising, and public relations, and for the cost of supplies, materials, and resources to create new artwork. In addition, funding may be used to protect an artist's work and art business. Eligible artists must live in or near Franklin County and primarily exhibit, perform, produce or present artistic work in the City of Columbus.

Grants of up to $40,000 to USA nonprofit organizations to offer free financial guidance and services to underserved populations. Funding is intended to develop new programming and enhance existing programs. The goal of the grant program is to help vulnerable community members through one-on-one pro bono financial planning sessions. In addition, the Alexandra Armstrong Innovation Grant will be awarded to a nonprofit organization that demonstrates creativity and potential for impact in its programming.

Grants of $20,000 to USA women’s shelters to provide services and support to women and children who have experienced abusive situations. Funding is intended to assist organizations that work to provide a safe, violence-free environment for abuse survivors. The goal of the grant program is to help to empower women so that they can live a life free from abuse.

Grants of up to $20,000 to Ohio nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for programs to address climate change. Funding is intended to benefit neighborhoods that have been negatively impacted by climate change. The efforts must have a clear impact on one or more neighborhoods within the Cincinnati city limits.

Opportunity for USA high school students to participate in a STEM program in eligible regions. The purpose of the program is to benefit students from historically underserved populations. Successful applicants will take part in a four- to six-week educational program focused on science, technology, engineering, and math. Applications will be accepted from rising juniors and seniors anywhere!

Opportunity for a USA artist or artist team to create a piece of art to be featured in a Louisiana university building. The selected piece will blend with its surroundings, complement the building's architecture, and reflect the themes of the building's purpose. Eligible uses of funds include research, installation, materials, and consultation with professionals. The art installation will be located in the atrium of the New Student Success Center at Louisiana State University Alexandria (LSUA).

Grants of $500 to USA, Canada, and International artists to create art depicting different aspects of nature. Applicants are required to contact the funding source to receive an application. Artwork may be produced in any type of medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art. Priority will be given to artwork submitted by artists from underrepresented communities and regions, as well as applicants from places or countries where there is a lack of funding available to artists.

Grants of up to $500 and in-kind services to qualifying USA women entrepreneurs to enhance business success and personal wellbeing. The program offers direct financial support, as well as coaching, tools, and resources to promote self-care. The goal of the program is to help women-led businesses overcome challenges, achieve sustainable growth, or pivot during critical times—all while maintaining their wellbeing. Eligible applicants must be the CEO or founder within the company.

Grants of $1,000 to USA nonprofit community-based organizations for activities that support local children. Funding is intended to benefit children under the age of 18. Eligible organizations align with one of the following areas of interest: education, welfare, health, and aid to children. Grants may be requested for any purpose related to providing benefits for children but preference will be given to those funding children’s programming.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International authors for nonfiction books on Jewish subjects. In addition to the $5,000 cash prize, winners will receive marketing and promotion assistance and customized support. Awards are available for books that have recently been published or are soon to be published, involving themes such as rein­vent­ing Jew­ish life and com­mu­ni­ty for the twen­ty-first cen­tu­ry, shift­ing notions of indi­vid­ual and collec­tive Jew­ish iden­ti­ty, the his­to­ry and future of Israel, and the evolv­ing rela­tion­ship between Israel and world Jewry.

Grants of up to $10,000 to USA, Canada, and Mexico nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, government agencies, and laboratories to cover expenses related to conferences, scientific meetings, and workshops that address aging. Funding is intended to support activities that reflect the Foundation's mission to drive efforts to extend healthy human lifespan and understand the processes of aging.

Prizes of $10,000 to USA individuals, teams, and private entities for models of effective translational science education and training. This challenge is intended to identify particularly effective and innovative teaching approaches and disseminate them in order to create a highly skilled and diverse translational science workforce.

Fellowships to USA journalists to research health inequities affecting families across the nation. This opportunity is meant to allow journalists to take time away from their newsrooms and deep-dive into the issues of health inequities, systemic racism, and their impact on families and communities.
