Grant Description
Grants to New Hampshire businesses for employee skill development programs. The purpose of the program is to help businesses improve workforce quality. Funding may be used for training programs in a range of focus areas, including but not limited to management and supervision, basic skills, technical skills, and English as a second language.
Acceptable use of grant funds:
Structured, on-site laboratory or classroom training
Basic Skills
Technical Skills
Quality Improvement
Safety
Management and Supervision
English as a Second Language
Other training programs that enhance the state’s workforce development
WorkInvestNH is:
• Available to businesses or co-applicants physically located in NH and businesses intending to physically locate in New Hampshire
• The business must pay quarterly taxes into the NH Unemployment Trust Fund
• The business must be in compliance with state laws and regulations
• Available for existing workers who are either residents of New Hampshire or who work at a business or co-applicant that is located or intends to locate within the state
Ineligible
WorkInvestNH funds do not cover travel, lodging or costs of meals for trainees.
The WorkInvestNH rules require that costs be itemized and that funds not supplant Company training funds.
Pre-Application Information
If possible, applications should be submitted 60 days in advance of the anticipated training start date.
You will be contacted by the Job Training Fund administrator and/or staff to review your application. If the application is not complete, you will be asked to make corrections within three business days.
Upon approval by the Commissioner, a contract will be forwarded to the applicant.
Please do not schedule any training less than two months prior to your submitted application.
WorkInvestNH requires:
• Minimum 1:1 cash match
• Any grant award of $70,000 or more has to be approved by the Governor and Executive Council
• A fully executed contract must be in place prior to the beginning of the training
An entity may apply for more than one grant each fiscal year.
